WE ARE DRAKON

Whether in daily life or at work, we believe that training provides the cornerstone for the way in which we as individuals, react to all situations.  Training provides the conditioning to enable us to make the right choices relative to the challenges we face, regardless of external pressures.  Nowhere is this ethos more prevalent than in the field of EOD, where the wrong decision can cause the operator to pay the ultimate price.

EOD is our passion, a unique vocation, conducted by exceptional people: The 'bravest of the brave' and our training is borne from the respect for this exceptional body of men and designed to ensure that our students are fully prepared to deal with the potential future challenges that await them.

IED GLOBAL THREAT

In modern conflicts when rapid combined arms manoeuvre has been replaced with an enduring presence, the IED has become a weapon of choice, used by opposing forces to restrict the mobility of 'friendly forces' and assets. These weapons have proved extremely effective - producing disproportionate casualties when compared to their cost. Given that the currency of enduring operations is invariably political 'will', casualties within any conflict zone will invariably influence that political will and ultimately, the mission success. Therefore, in some respects, an IED is increasingly utilised as a strategic weapon, used to influence the conduct of a campaign and its ongoing political support.

IED Technology has been accessible to criminals, terrorists and insurgents ever since the invention of explosives. It is within today’s theatres of Humanitarian and Military Operations that they have become much more prevalent and prominent.  DRAKON Group has a long history and extensive expertise based on dealing with the full spectrum of threat presented by them.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

IEDD Advanced Operators require a multitude of skills to be capable of dealing with devices that are complex and/or inaccessible to both remote and semi-remote means. It is because of this, that IEDD remains one of the most mentally and technically challenging tasks performed by anyone in the armed forces or civilian EOD community - requiring a high-level investment in both skills and training. Modern EOD Operators and Technicians have to adapt to rapidly evolving methods of device construction with ranging from shrapnel-filled explosive belts to VBIEDs incorporating repurposed military ordnance.  Military and law enforcement personnel from around the world have developed a number of render-safe procedures (RSPs) to deal with IEDs. RSPs may be developed as a result of direct experience with devices or by applied research designed to counter the threat.

Our techniques and procedures follow the NATO, UN and ISO standards and where relevant, our training provides international certification for successful students. Our trainers are consummately professional, highly motivated and highly qualified. They are ready to provide the best training anywhere and anytime. If required, we can also deliver instruction in your language, to ensure complete understanding. Our instructors are selected from around the world to ensure you get the best training, entirely suited to your requirements.
